Picked the first batch of Green Beans (Top Crop variety) last week. Nothing better than fresh green beans for a summer supper.
I pick ’em. Dad breaks ’em. I wash ’em and them cook ’em (following the recipe on the Recipes & Such page: How To Cook Green Beans To Death).
We La Rues like pickled cucumbers and onions alongside our fresh green beans….delicious!
Our Yellow Squash is also in season…stay tuned for Mom’s recipe for Summer Skillet Squash (with sour cream, onion and bacon…yum!). Also, our red potatoes are ready as well. Boiled and buttered and topped with freshly chopped homegrown Parsley….awesome!
Summer is rolling right along here in the Garden Spot of the Universe.
