A Few Thoughts on Honeysuckle….

Honeysuckle at Groundhog Hill.

Honeysuckle at Groundhog Hill.

According to the Farmers Almanac, Honeysuckle is native to North America, however, some species were imported from Great Britain, where it is known as “Woodbine.”

Traditionally, Honeysuckle is/was used to treat fevers, cold, asthma, dysentery, and diarrhea. It is still an ingredient in herbal cold remedies.

Plus, it sure smells good.

Overcast, gloomy with t-storms approaching here today. Be sure to check out this week’s NOTES FROM GROUNDHOG HILL in The La Rue County Herald News, which hits newsstands tomorrow.
