Wild Dogwood Tree at Groundhog Hill

Good Morning from The Garden Spot of the Universe!

Party sunny skies and a chilly 46 degrees at Groundhog Hill…Spirea Winter is here! SW comes after Dogwood Winter and is the last vestige of Winter prior to Spring settling in and the chance of Frost settling out.

As you can see, the Garden at Groundhog Hill has been recently plowed….again. Thanks, as always, to my terrific brother-in-law, John Varney, for his generosity and expert tractor-work.

This morning, I drove the truck over to GH and just sat there listening to the BirdSong and drinking in the beautiful landscape that is Groundhog Hill.

I even noticed a Wild Dogwood Tree that heretofore had escaped my attention. Ha! The things we see and don’t see. Always a head-scratcher.

Lots to do: Seeds to buy. Schematics to draw. I am ready!

More later….

Love the pics and can imagine the birdsong. Good luck with the planting. (it is dreadfully hot in SaMo atm – you are lucky to be there!)

Thought it was supposed to be 75 and sunny for Derby….now forecast is 69 with 20% chance of showers….looks like it may just be time to sit back and sip some bourbon

    • Gloomy and chilly here in Hodgenville, but the birds are singing, neighbors are mowing their lawns, and simple syrup is being made for Juleps! What is your preferred Bourbon? I am partial to Makers Mark.
