This week’s column
Perhaps not my best
But how exciting to learn
There’s an actual Zinnia Fest!
The grass is thick
But the mower’s currently broken.
Time to buy a new one
As the weeds have awoken.
Hope you like the garden
There, I find peace.
To me, it’s quite pretty.
Zinnias aplenty and Sunflowers, at least.
—Ode to Zinnia Fest at Groundhog Hill
In this week’s NOTES FROM GROUNDHOG HILL, which appears weekly in The La Rue County Herald News, you’ll find an invitation and a fun riddle to guide you to the garden on Sat., Aug. 3rd from 8 AM – 10 AM. Rain cancels all, though, as the hill is hard to traverse in muddy conditions.
Overcast and drizzly today in The Garden Spot. I’ve got some weeding to do, nonetheless. Time to muddy the feet!
